Every year, Travel + Leisure publishes its World's Best Award winners, highlighting the very best in travel, from hotels to airports to cruises to islands, as voted by readers. The 2018 list has arrived, which means we're itching to make travel plans to, well, every single one of the places recognized. As for the Best Cities in the World list, a very competitive category, the top city this year is ... San Miguel de Allende, Mexico. Freddie Awards: The Best Travel Loyalty Programs in the World
The travel geeks have spoken, and it's now official: Southwest Airlines Rapid Rewards is the world's best frequent flier program, according to voters in the annual Freddie Awards, the Oscars of the loyalty world. Norwegian Air's Norwegian Reward and Virgin Australia Velocity Frequent Flyer also won regional accolades from the 4.4 million voters who weighed in. While the Freddies are known for their airline program rankings, they also consider hotel loyalty programs. Marriott Rewards won this year's award, with Le Club AccorHotels and IHG Rewards Club also getting recognition. Freddies voters rank programs on a variety of factors, including ability to redeem points, quality of customer service, and perks for elite travelers, of which we're guessing there are a few among the millions chiming in.Author
