Kansas had eight early turnovers, and one turned into a breakaway dunk by Grayson Allen. Allen picked up his dribble from beyond the 3-point line and continued towards the basket, taking at least three steps before finishing the dunk. So these referees are going to call all of these ticky-tack offensive fouls and then miss a clear and obvious travel by Allen? — Jeremy Ryan (@JeremyRyan44) March 25, 2018Good to see Grayson Allen getting away with the LeBron travel for the dunk. — Brian Duncan (@bdunk_12) March 25, 2018How many steps did Grayson Allen take for that dunk?
WATCH: Grayson Allen gets away with blatant travel in Elite Eight game vs. Kansas
Duke star Grayson Allen is one of the most polarizing players in college basketball, so everything he does on the court is under the microscope. However, he got away with a pretty blatant travel in the first half of Duke's Elite Eight game against Kansas on Sunday evening. As you can see in the video below, shared by @MarchMadness on Twitter, Allen grabs a steal and then proceeds to take about four steps without dribbling before dunking the ball:At least this incident wasn't another tripping incident, as Allen would probably break Twitter if he pulled one of those stunts on this national stage. Still, it's fair to question what the refs were watching during this play, when Allen took a leisurely stroll to the basket.
