UPDATE: No Travel Advisory issued in Grand Forks Area; Travel alert still in place for northeast and southeast North Dakota

A Travel Alert is still in effect for northeastern and portions of southeastern North Dakota due to snow covered and icy roads and reduced visibility. The North Dakota Department of Transportation (NDDOT) along with the North Dakota Highway Patrol (NDHP) have issued a Travel Alert for northeastern and southeastern North Dakota due to snow-covered roads and reduced visibility. Cities included in the Travel Alert are Drayton, Grafton, Pembina, Jamestown, Valley City, Ellendaleand and surrounding areas. A Travel Alert means conditions are such that motorists can still travel in these areas, but should be advised of rapidly changing conditions. Motorists are encouraged to reduce speeds and drive according to the conditions.

Storm Prompts No Travel Advisory in Grand Forks Area

as mentioned in The state issued the no travel advisory for the area Sunday. Dan Riddle, a meteorologist with the National Weather Service office in Grand Forks, says at least six inches of snow have fallen in the area, with potential for a few more by evening. Officials also say a travel alert remains effective for northeastern and parts of southeastern North Dakota because of icy and snow-covered roads and low visibility. That means motorists can still travel, but could encounter roads with difficult winter weather driving conditions.
